October 2026: Plan for the senior citizens’ health check-up
Extra care for your elderly relative
Is your dog over 6 years old or your cat over 8 years old? If so, it’s a good idea to pay a little extra attention to their health. As pets get older, the risk of certain health problems increases. These problems often develop gradually, and the early signs aren’t always easy to spot at home.
That is why this month is all about the senior. This month, we’re offering a senior citizens’ consultation with 10% ksorting on.
Prevention is better than cure
During a senior pet consultation, we take plenty of time to examine your dog or cat. Among other things, we assess their general condition, weight, teeth, heart and lungs, and mobility. This enables us to identify any changes at an early stage and, where necessary, recommend further investigations.
Joint problems For example, the signs aren’t always immediately obvious. Perhaps your dog or cat is walking a little more slowly, finds it a bit harder to get going, or you notice a slight limp from time to time. Once they’re up and moving, however, there doesn’t seem to be much wrong. Yet these can be early signs of joint problems. Fortunately, there are now various ways to support older pets with this and to alleviate any pain they may be experiencing.
A look inside the body
In addition to the physical examination, we recommend that older animals undergo a blood and urine tests. Among other things, this enables us to assess kidney function. Thanks to modern testing, changes can sometimes be detected at an early stage, even before your pet shows any obvious symptoms.
Particularly in cats, there is also a blood pressure measurement Important. High blood pressure is common in older cats, but is often difficult to detect from the outside. The test is painless, takes only a short time and can be carried out during a routine consultation.
Your pet doesn’t always show it
Dogs and cats are masters at hiding pain and illness. An animal may appear perfectly fine on the outside, whilst something is actually wrong. That is precisely why a annual health check-up so valuable. By spotting changes early on, we can often take action sooner and keep your pet healthy, comfortable and active for as long as possible.
